Crane Design & Assessments
Teck provides design and assessments of gantry type cranes and bridge cranes to CMAA Specification 70 as well as detailed analyses, fatigue simulations and design modifications for cranes. This includes preparation of detailed engineering drawings and specifications that are suitable for fabrication.
Our designs are suitable for low temperature operation and incorporate special low temperature steel to ensure that the material remains ductile in low temperatures. They also include metal fatigue resistant connections that are rigorously analyzed, using finite element methods, to increase the life expectancy of the components.
Our damage tolerant design includes specification of non-destructive examination (NDE) criteria and inspection frequencies of the crane components to ensure that over time, the fatigue cracks do not grow to a critical size.
We provide assessment of existing cranes and life expectancy predictions to estimate the remaining useful life of the crane.
