The Taloyoak Power Station is a remote diesel-fired power station located in Nunavut, with a total installed capacity of 1.8 MW. The power station supplies electrical power to the community and features a combined heat and power design that recovers heat from the engine’s jacket water system for building heat.
Teck’s responsibilities included all mechanical and piping design including preparation of equipment specifications, equipment layout drawings, piping drawings, P&ID’s, control narrative, and operator’s manuals. The project lead consultant was Gygax Engineering Associates Ltd.
