Teck provided all mechanical and piping design for the Sukari Gold Mine Power Station located 50 km from Marsa Alam, Egypt. This 28 MW power station was comprised of four 7 MW MAK diesel-fired gensets, heavy fuel oil (HFO) treatment system and fuel storage tank farm.
The power station provided power to the mine and gold processing plant and was commissioned on diesel fuel with full capability to operate on HFO.
Teck’s responsibilities included all the mechanical and piping design including preparation of equipment specifications, equipment layout drawings, and fuel storage tank farm design. The lead consultant for the project was W.N. Brazier Associates Inc.
